END THE TRUSTEESHIP, HOLD AN ELECTION, RETURN THE LOCAL TO THE MEMBERS

Teamster Unity 731 is a group of members who are organizing to clean up our local union and put the members back in charge.

Last year our local got put in Trusteeship. Terry Hancock stole more than 1.3 million dollars of our dues money.  The executive board was giving themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars of unauthorized bonuses.

The whole executive board was removed. Trustees from the International Union are running the local now.

The trustees have left the same executive board members who were removed from office in charge as our agents and contract negotiators.

It’s no surprise that members are still having the same problems: no-show business agents who don’t answer our calls; weak contracts and negotiators who think their job is to parrot the company’s talking points to the members.

Here’s the truth: Nobody is going to fix our local but the members.

That’s why we’re asking all Local 731 members to sign our petition to end the trusteeship, hold a fair election, and return our local to the members.

With an election, we can vote in leaders who will do the job right – not steal our dues or sell us out.

Despite overwhelming opposition from members of Local 731 today the Barricades contract was approved by just 4 votes out of 300 members voting in 5 locals.


Local 731 "leaders" forced this substandard contract down Local 731 members' throats despite almost unanimous opposition.


Just 2 weeks ago members voted down this contract with a clear message: wages that keep up with inflation and match the pay of workers in similar industries. 


Instead of fighting for us our local "leaders" argued the company's side to members, and then put the SAME deal back in front of the membership for a vote.



We stand behind our brothers in barricades who stood strong and voted no after being coerced, threatened, and even told to cross picket lines by our union "leaders".



These are the same BAs and "leaders" who want to continue running the local after the trusteeship ends.


This is why we need new leadership that fights for the members, not the company.
